my skincare routine 2019

Back in October 2015, almost 4 years ago, I wrote a post called 'Autumn pamper routine' which is the closest thing to a skincare routine on my blog. However, since 2015 I have become a massive fan of skincare and have really been caring for my skin especially in the past year. In the past couple of months, I have finally got the perfect routine that I LOVE so I thought it was finally time to share with you all.

MORNING / NIGHT

Glossier Jelly Cleanser
Simple Toner - Since April I have been using reusable cotton pads (from amazon) to reduce the amount of single-use products I use and they are brilliant, I highly recommend. I even got some for my mum back in August.
Glossier Bubblewrap: Eye and lip plumping cream
Olay Complete lightweight 3-in-1 Moisturiser day fluid (SPF-15)
Dr.Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Colour correcting treatment
Laneige Lip sleeping mask

My routine is the same morning and night, however on the nights I wash my hair in the shower I also use a scrub from Superdrug - Vitamin E Facial Scrub. I don't like to use it every day as I feel it can be too rough for my skin, so 2-3 times a week seem to work perfectly for me.

I am so proud of how my skin looks now and how I have actually managed to get a good routine down that I like doing morning and night as I never use to do that. I always use to put moisturiser on or wash my face with a cleanser when I remembered to. Now I feel like a different person.

Finally, if you would like to try out Glossier (I would it's my bloody favourite thing) then you can use my link to get 10% off your first order!! glossier.com

Thank you so much for reading, if you try out any of the products I would love to hear what you think as well as hearing any recommendation you have for me to try.

my recent favourites | jan - apr

Since going back to University in January I have found a lot of new favourites, and I thought now would be the perfect time to share them with you all.

SKINCARE & MAKE-UP

For the first time in forever, I have tried out new beauty products. This is mainly because I want to start making a conscious effort to use cruelty-free products and if possible, vegan ones. I had never realised how many brands don't test on animals themselves but the larger company they are owned by are doing this or test on them in China. furthermore, I am trying to move away to other products. Glossier, my all-time favourite skincare, is cruelty-free and so are all of my new favourite skincare & make-up items. If you didn't already know, the majority of Superdrug's own products are cruelty-free so I decided to try out one of their face scrubs. NYX is now vegan-friendly as well as being a cruelty-free brand!! So I jumped on the bandwagon and tried out the 'Can't stop won't stop concealer' and wow it is amazing, my new favourite - sorry collection lasting perfection.

Glossier - Balm Dotcom in Birthday & Rose
Superdrug - Vitamin E Facial Scrub
NYX - Can't Stop Won't Stop Concealer
NYX - Tame & Frame Tinted brow pomade

FASHION

Gymshark - Everyday Jogger
Nike - Air Force 1

FILMS

Christopher Robin
Venom
The Highwaymen
Captain Marvel
Fiver Feet Apart
The Book Club

TV SHOWS

The Good Place
Chicago PD
Chicago Med
Jane the Virgin

YOUTUBE

Since going to University I have tried to watch more and more people who are also doing the same thing, and I came across Charlotte Emily. A 2nd-year Forensic Science student at the University of Lincoln. Charlotte vlogs her uni life as well as uploading to her 'main channel' which I love because you get to see both sides of her, however, I have to say my favourite thing is her vlogs - mainly because I prefer to watch them.

I also LOVE watching American youtubers who are at College, and I came across Abbey Asselin in the gals on the go facebook page and have been obsessed ever since. I came across Maggie MacDonald when another Kenzie mentioned her in a video and again, I have been obsessed ever since. It is so interesting to see the difference between a university in the UK and college in the US.

MUSIC

As you all (probably) know, I LOVE music but then again who doesn't? Since January I have already been to 3 concerts and fallen in love with some new music and some of my all time favourites also released new music! Don't forget to check out my April playlist which is linked in the sidebar, and each month that is where you will find the new playlist.

LANY - Malibu Nights
Busted - Half Way There
Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved
Bea Miller & 6LACK - it's not u it's me
Lennon Stella - BITCH (takes one to know one)
Jonas Brothers
Billie Eilish - WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
The Vamps - Missing You

I have actually been home from University for 2 weeks now and have one more week left of the Easter holidays, which will consist of working Tues-Fri, watching ENDGAME (I am freaking out about it, not sure I am emotionally ready) and attempting to start my revision for my exams in May. Anyway, enough about my boring life at the moment, I hope you have enjoyed this post and thank you so much for actually reading!!

L'Oreal Infallible Foundation Stick | Review

I have always been a fan of L'Oreal and their foundations, so I was very excited to try out this new stick foundation. I made sure I did research before actually purchasing it, by watching multiple youtube videos where I could see them actually using the product as well as obviously reading the comments on the Superdrug website and the overall review in stars - 4/5 Stars.

The reviews were all great, it came so highly recommended so I finally caved and ordered it online alongside 2 lipsticks one for me and one for my mum, and a new concealer. It took about a week to arrive but I wasn't fussed because it was free delivery and it actually came on my birthday so I got to wear it out for my birthday meal.

I was first worried about the application of the product because, well as I said before I had never used one before, but it was really easy. I applied it randomly all over my face to make sure I would get an even coverage and it blended lovely with my beauty blender however when I tried to add more it didn't seem to make a difference to the coverage on my face. When I used it again I tried to apply more to my face in the first place and that worked better, but still not full coverage - I would say it was more of a medium coverage foundation.

I continued to use it for several weeks but this past week it started to go patchy when I was applying it, areas of my face would still be red and almost have no foundation on. I tried to add more and it didn't seem to make any difference, the foundation was almost rubbing itself off my face, which was extremely irritating. It started to rub off my face a lot quickly throughout the day, even after I had applied my setting spray. I started to question whether there was something wrong with my skin, like was it too dry or was it too oily? My skin was not dry and my skin gets oily throughout the day but that didn't affect the foundation. But I do think skin type does affect the application of foundation, and possibly my oily skin affected it somehow but I'm not sure how.

Overall the product was great to start off with, it blended really easily and didn't dry on my face too quickly so I was able to easily apply all my foundation at any pace. However, after 2/3 weeks of using it most days, it did go patchy and almost stop working as a foundation. I do not regret buying this product mainly because I have always wanted to try a stick foundation and think I may try one of the makeup revolution ones that everyone was hyping about at the same time!

I hope this review was helpful, I quite enjoyed doing this sort of post and I think I may start doing some more of these when I get new products and maybe not just makeup ones. Thank you for reading, it means a lot! I have missed blogging as I had to take a step back for a little bit because my school work took over but I starting to find a balance which is brilliant!

January Favourites 2018

Thank goodness it is finally February, January seemed to last forever and I am so glad it is over! That also means a new favourites post, woo. If I am honest the main things I loved last month were tv shows (oops i'm sorry...) however I racked my brain a little more and came up with some more favourites for you, as a blog post about two tv shows would be pretty boring?? Anyway, let's get into the favourites.

The first is a liquid lipstick that my cousin got me for Christmas as a 'santa present' - what we give after we eat Christmas dinner. She got me a beautiful lipstick from Maybelline that I have been wearing quite a lot recently because it stays on so well, and I love a lipstick that lasts a long time! But then again who doesn't? It is called the Superstay Matte Ink Liquid in the shade Lover (15).

The second and final beauty favourite of last month is something I am yet to talk about on my blog, but that is the Urban Decay's Naked Heat palette - which I got for Christmas. I have been wearing this every chance I get, I wasn't 100% sure how I would feel about it when I got it as I had already been using the Modern Renaissance palette for a while and I have never had more than one eye shadow palette at a time. However I was shocked and fell in love with it automatically, and now I actually use them together. At the moment though I have been grabbing the Naked Heat palette more often as I find the colours in the Modern Renaissance palette more 'going out' and I haven't been out much recently... I blame A-levels... Anyway, the colours are so beautiful in the Naked Heat, however I haven't used them all yet but that is always the way I think with some palettes. It was the same when I first got the Naked 2 back in 2015.

Last month I came across a new artist one of Kalyn's playlist's on Spotify, and his name is Noah Kahn. I automatically fell in love with him and added all of his tracks to my January favourites here. He has such a distinct and calming sound, and sometimes he even sounds a little like James Blunt who I also love!

My final favourite for last month was an American tv show called Criminal Minds - however if you have watched it all shhh, I am about half way through season 9 at the moment! I have never really talked about this side of me before on my blog but, I adore these sorts of things and should really talk about them more especially as I am off to study Criminology in October. But Crime shows are amazing, but the same with all shows but this isn't just about them finding psychopaths or sociopaths it is more than that and that is what I love. You get to see their lives too, outside and inside of working at the FBI Behavioural Analysis Unit. I have been watching this on Amazon Prime, because at the start of the year I found that they had added all 12 seasons!! It was like Christmas all over again! (and when I found out Netflix added all 10 seasons of friends)

A real mix of favourites from last month which kind of show every side of me, which is different for a change. January was a brilliant month, even though it did consist of a lot of revision, coursework writing, sleeping and watching criminal minds (the last 2 aren't so bad I guess). Overall it was a decent start to the year and I can't wait for the rest of the year as there are so many exciting things happening. One of which is happening next Monday, and there will be a post on Monday.. and that is all I am saying as I can't describe it very well without telling you what it is about! Anyway... I hope you had a wonderful start to the year, if not don't worry you still have 11 months left to make changes! xxx

August Favourites 2016

I always seem to do my favourites each month and sometimes they get pretty repetitive so I decided to only talk about a few things. However they will all be new and never been mention before on my blog, as my favourites each month seem to be pretty similar. Lets get started anyway.

When I flew out to Spain my Mum was kind enough to buy me the Benefit Hoola Bronzer, which I have fallen in love with and the colour suits me so much more than the Collection highlight and contour palette. It works so well as a suitable bronzer but also for a good contour. I love the fact it comes with a little brush, which works so well for contouring all of my face! I would recommended this product 100%, especially if you are pretty pale (like me) as the colour works so well as it isn't too dark.

Next is a highlighter that I have been wearing a lot recently, this is the Nars Copacabana Illuminator. I bought it when I was in America last year, from the Sephora opposite the Hard Rock cafe. I remember I spent the whole trip saying how much I wanted to buy it and trying it on in every Sephora. However on out last day in New York I told my friend I was going to buy a Hard Rock cafe Top and if I had enough money I would then buy it for my self and well I did! I am honestly so happy I got it too, it took a while for me to get use to applying it as it is a liquid but I have finally. I apply with my fingers and then blend it in with my tiny beauty blends and then apply a thin layer of the collection highlight and it looks amazing. I honestly adore it so much, I have joined the highlight craze now a little late but oh well.

Next is an Album, which I actually bought the day before I flew home from Spain which meant with Prime it would be there when I got home! Which it was and I added it straight to my phone as soon as I could! Oh yes, the Album is Know-It-All by Alessia Cara. I was obsessed with her song 'Wild Things' for ages and then heard another song by her 'Scars to your beautiful' on Spotify and realised she had an album out. Not sure how I missed it but, well I then listen to it on holiday via Spotify and became obsessed with it all! I defiantly recommend it and if you haven't heard any of her songs, then listen to 'Here' or 'Wild Things' as they are probably her will known songs.

Second last is a youtuber and it is velvetgh0st but her vlog channel! Gabby has been vlogging a lot recently and she has just moved so she has been vlogging all of that. She has also been going out 'clubbing' or just drinking with her friends and she vlogs that too and they honestly make me laugh and smile so much. She has also just uploaded her reaction to the PLL summer finale, which I haven't watched but I am so excited to watch it when I can.
Vlog Channel: Planet Gabb

Last is a movie which I have never mentioned before as I have just found a new love for it and the actor in it. It is Legend, and it is all about The Kray twins which are gangsters. I originally watched it on prime as research almost for a school project as I am doing all about nature and nurture of crime and murders. I thought it would interesting to watch and kind of related to my work so why not! The actor Tom Hardy plays both of the twins, Reggie and Ronnie, he plays them so well. I got my dad to buy it me on DVD the other week as I'm not 18 until March. It confused me slightly when I first watched it but you have to pay attention to it completely, you can't half watch it and half play on your phone otherwise you miss loads of the story line. However it is very violent and the language is very strong which explains why it is an 18, I can't really say don't watch it if your under 18 as I am but if your under 16 or scared by certain things I wouldn't recommend it!

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed this. I have some back to school posts planned now which are exciting!

Kylie Lip Kit Review

Hey guys, so as you can tell by the tittle I managed to get my hands on a one of Kylie Jenner's Matte lip kits. I have wanted since they came out and it was actually the day of the year 11's Prom that I got it which was like 3/4 weeks ago. It arrived last Friday however my it got left with my neighbours who weren't in when I got home so I didn't actually get it till this Monday.

I was out shopping with my friend and I got the notification that Kylie had restocked them and I just panicked in the middle of Sports Direct. I looked at Hannah, my mind had gone black I had no idea which colour I wanted. I went for Candy K and bought it then and there, in the middle of Sports Direct. I had the panic of checking I had enough money in bank mainly because the currency difference was confusing me a little. But overall it came to £34.12 including the shipping from the US, which i thought was pretty good considering you get both a lipstick and lip liner. I did have to pay £1.25 as I wasn't paying in pounds it was US dollars. But I really wasn't bothered as I had been waiting so long.
I finally got the email saying it had been dispatched and you could then track the process so I knew where it was, which made me more excited. I'm so sad I know but...

I came home from my work experience placement on the 13th to see a royal mail slip on our coffee table. I looked closer and it turned out I had a customs fee to pay. I kind of guessed all the way through that knowing my luck I'd have to pay a customs fee. I wasn't that bothered as I had the money so I paid the £11.50 and selected for it to be delivered on the 15th. When it was delivered on the Friday but no one was in so it went to our next door neighbours. But when I got home they weren't in so I wasn't able to get it until the 18th. Anyways enough about my long boring story about getting it onto the actual product!!

It comes in a black box so you can't actually tell what it is from the outside but once you open it it says 'KYLIE' on the underside of the lid. It is carefully wrapped so the product won't get damaged, underneath the product and on top of it. The next thing alongside the box of product itself is the card from Kylie, which apparently is pot lunch whether you get it so I have heard so I was super excited when I found it in my box as it will be going straight onto my wall at some point.

Now to the actually product, inside the little box you get the lip liner and the liquid lipstick. The packaging of both of them are beautiful and I have fallen in love with everything about it. The only downside to the lipstick is that there is no stopper to reduce the amount of product on the applicator.  Another thing is it can be quite difficult to get off however it stays on your lips for ages, which is brilliant. I wore it for the first time when I went to Blackpool on the 19th July (the hottest day of the year) which seemed stupid because of the heat but in actual fact it stayed on nearly all day and I re-applied it later in the day after I had eaten on my bottom lips as it seems to be fade quicker there, in the middle of my lips. Which it does for all lipsticks as that is like the bit of the lip you use for eating and drinking.

Finally the smell of the product, oh my gosh it smells amazing! I can't quite put my finger on what it smells like but I like I said I have fallen with EVERYTHING about it. I'm super tempted to order myself Exposed after summer or purchase a dupe of it from NYX as it has finally opened in my local boots stores.

Have you guys got any of her lipsticks, I kind of want to try her glosses but I'm unsure as I don;t tend to wear glosses that much but they seem different others. I hope you have enjoyed this post, I'm sorry it was uploaded later than usual I had a little trouble with my other post and in the end gave up with it but oh well.
