photo diary | jonas brothers, birmingham

The day I have been waiting for since 2007 has finally come. I saw the Jonas Brothers, live, in concert, in the UK. I remember when they announced they were coming back because I had joked on Facebook when they changed their photos to classic 'black' images.  I said 'reunion tour' and boy was I right. Not only a tour but a bloody massive one with LOTS of new songs. Truly a happy girl.

My friend and I had the best night and oh my god it was definitely the best £60 I have ever spent. We had a great view from Block 1 and there were 3 seats next to us that were empty so we had loads of space!

less than 24 hours in leicester

The other weekend my mum and I took a little trip down to Leicester for a concert at De Montfort Hall, called Gigs in the Garden. It consisted of 3 acts, Scouting for Girls, Professor Green and Busted.

BODEGA CANTINA
Our first stop in Leicester was actually for dinner which we had early due to the concert starting at 6:30pm. As we were in the city to pick up some Lush and for mum to get her tragus pierced we stopped in St Martins Square (my favourite place in Leicester) and tried out Bodega Cantina. It is a beautiful little Mexican place, we had nachos to share to start which were homemade and absolutely beautiful. I decided to go all out and get a cocktail, a vodka cosmo. For our mains mum and I, both had a burrito however I had a naked on (in a bowl rather than a wrap).

SCOUTING FOR GIRLS
Roy, Pete and Gregg always put on amazing show, scouting for girls truly are one of my favourite bands ever. I can't even count how many times I have seen them live but they always impress. Mum and I always have the best time seeing them, and we have definitely already get tickets for their UK tour in November/December this year.

The setlist
Heartbeat
This Ain't a Love Song
James Bond
It's Not About You
Grown Ups
Millionaire
Posh Girls
She's So Lovely

PROFESSOR GREEN

BUSTED
I have always been a massive fan of Busted, ever since I was a little girl. I knew after I saw McBusted live I needed to see ALL of Busted when they got back together. So when I saw they were coming to Leicester with Scouting for Girls I asked mum straight away if she wanted to go and thank goodness she said yes!! We had such an amazing view and honestly had the best time, 4-year old me would never believe that I'd been seeing them live at the age of 20 and close to the stage!! Still emotional.

The setlist
Airhostess
What I go to School For
Thunderbirds
You Said No
Crashed the Wedding
Sleeping with the Light on
3am
Shipwrecked in Atlantis
Radio
Nineties
Year 3000

We ended the evening by having a nice walk back to the hotel, followed by a cup of tea and a doughnut from my favourite place - Doughnotts!! If you ever find yourself in either Leicester, Nottingham or Derby I definitely recommend trying them out. Mum loved her's (choc orange) and she isn't a massive fan of doughnuts. I had cookie monster - a personal favourite from them.

The following morning we packed up our bags, had another cup of tea and got ready to head to breakfast at spoons. I went for something different this time, usually I am a small or large breakfast type of girl at spoons but instead, I went for smashed avo on a muffin with poached eggs. Mum had scrambled egg on toast with baked beans, and of course, we had several cups of tea too.

It felt strange going to Leicester and not staying in my accommodation but instead of staying in a Premier Inn. It was fun to experience it in a different light with my mum, however, I cannot wait to move into my new accommodation - NEXT SATURDAY !!! woohoo. Can't wait to show you my new room for my 2nd year at University, and get back into blogging again as I been slacking.

photo diary | the vamps, O2 london

It has been a while... Last month was spent in a serious revision mode because of my university exams which ended on the 24th May. They were followed by a weekend away in London with Jodie, Sophie and Lauren seeing The Vamps on tour. If you have been reading my blog for a while then you will know that I am a massive Vamps fan and every year I go to their tour.

So... it is that time of year again for the 'photo diary' of the vamps tour. I hope you enjoy and if you are a fellow vamps fan, did you go to tour?

I want to start this post off with a little OOTD because I am trying to branch out in my clothing and I honestly loved this outfit.

my recent favourites | jan - apr

Since going back to University in January I have found a lot of new favourites, and I thought now would be the perfect time to share them with you all.

SKINCARE & MAKE-UP

For the first time in forever, I have tried out new beauty products. This is mainly because I want to start making a conscious effort to use cruelty-free products and if possible, vegan ones. I had never realised how many brands don't test on animals themselves but the larger company they are owned by are doing this or test on them in China. furthermore, I am trying to move away to other products. Glossier, my all-time favourite skincare, is cruelty-free and so are all of my new favourite skincare & make-up items. If you didn't already know, the majority of Superdrug's own products are cruelty-free so I decided to try out one of their face scrubs. NYX is now vegan-friendly as well as being a cruelty-free brand!! So I jumped on the bandwagon and tried out the 'Can't stop won't stop concealer' and wow it is amazing, my new favourite - sorry collection lasting perfection.

Glossier - Balm Dotcom in Birthday & Rose
Superdrug - Vitamin E Facial Scrub
NYX - Can't Stop Won't Stop Concealer
NYX - Tame & Frame Tinted brow pomade

FASHION

Gymshark - Everyday Jogger
Nike - Air Force 1

FILMS

Christopher Robin
Venom
The Highwaymen
Captain Marvel
Fiver Feet Apart
The Book Club

TV SHOWS

The Good Place
Chicago PD
Chicago Med
Jane the Virgin

YOUTUBE

Since going to University I have tried to watch more and more people who are also doing the same thing, and I came across Charlotte Emily. A 2nd-year Forensic Science student at the University of Lincoln. Charlotte vlogs her uni life as well as uploading to her 'main channel' which I love because you get to see both sides of her, however, I have to say my favourite thing is her vlogs - mainly because I prefer to watch them.

I also LOVE watching American youtubers who are at College, and I came across Abbey Asselin in the gals on the go facebook page and have been obsessed ever since. I came across Maggie MacDonald when another Kenzie mentioned her in a video and again, I have been obsessed ever since. It is so interesting to see the difference between a university in the UK and college in the US.

MUSIC

As you all (probably) know, I LOVE music but then again who doesn't? Since January I have already been to 3 concerts and fallen in love with some new music and some of my all time favourites also released new music! Don't forget to check out my April playlist which is linked in the sidebar, and each month that is where you will find the new playlist.

LANY - Malibu Nights
Busted - Half Way There
Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved
Bea Miller & 6LACK - it's not u it's me
Lennon Stella - BITCH (takes one to know one)
Jonas Brothers
Billie Eilish - WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
The Vamps - Missing You

I have actually been home from University for 2 weeks now and have one more week left of the Easter holidays, which will consist of working Tues-Fri, watching ENDGAME (I am freaking out about it, not sure I am emotionally ready) and attempting to start my revision for my exams in May. Anyway, enough about my boring life at the moment, I hope you have enjoyed this post and thank you so much for actually reading!!

photo diary | LANY, nottingham

This time last week I was back at home in Nottingham for a concert to see the wonderful LANY. So I thought it was the perfect opportunity to do yet another photo diary as they are one of my favourite things to do, especially concert ones.

Being home allowed me to take a trip to my favourite place, Bunk. If you are from either Derby or Nottingham then I highly recommend you try them out as they have the best food and some lovely cocktails too! Whenever I see Jodie, Sophie and Lauren we ALWAYS go out to Bunk.

february playlist

February went by so quickly, unlike January which always seems to last for so long. But alas now February is over I thought it was time to share the music I was listening to last month. However, I think this will be the last post I do about my 'monthly playlist' as instead, I am just going to have them in the sidebar on my blog. This is mainly due to me trying to change up my content a little bit as I think it is getting very repetitive.

In February, as you will have seen from my previous post. I went to see Post Malone in Manchester so I added his set list to my monthly playlist as well as having a separate playlist of just Post Malone songs, which is called beerbongs & bentleys

photo diary | post malone, manchester

Back at the beginning of October my friends and I actually planned a trip together, which is very unheard of for us. We usually come up with the idea and then well, it just never happens - especially with the lads. However, this time was different.

Over the past few months, we bought the concert tickets (not the city we originally wanted but that didn't matter), booked a hotel, figured out transport, hired a car, I booked a train ticket home. On Tuesday, Ben drove us to Manchester whilst we listened to every Post Malone song possible in that 2-hour journey, we checked into our hotel (thankfully I didn't have to share a room with anyone), we got ready, had a meal, had some drinks and went to the concert. Afterwards, it consisted of us still singing Post Malone songs, drunk, and heading towards Bierkeller (which ended up being shut because well it was a Tuesday night). Instead, we sat in good old Whetherspoons for a while before getting a uber back to the wrong hotel (thanks Ben).

TUESDAY

Finally arrived after about 2 hours of driving, including a pit stop at KFC and gregs.

We checked into the hotel and I thankfully had my own room, which meant I could take up loads of space in the bathroom with my favourite thing - my toiletry bag. (let's ignore the beer, which I did actually like????)

quick 'photoshoot' before dinner

It took us a while to find somewhere to eat as we didn't plan it very well, but we did find somewhere eventually. A good old Chinese restaurant.

WEDNESDAY

We got caught in the rain on Wednesday but we still did a bit of shopping after Breakfast, before heading home. And home in Derby rather than back to University, as it was half term for my mum and brother so I spent the rest of the day with them which was lovely. It worked out perfectly too as I don't have uni till 12pm on a Thursday so I got a train in the morning on Thursday, I also have Tuesday & Wednesday off so thankfully I didn't miss any uni for this trip.

Thank you so much for reading! I had the loveliest trip with my best friends, and we are definitely going to plan another trip like this when Post Malone comes back to the UK or just for another band/person. We are considering seeing the 2nd support act as he was great, had his music on for the journey home.
