my recent favourites | jan - apr

Since going back to University in January I have found a lot of new favourites, and I thought now would be the perfect time to share them with you all.

SKINCARE & MAKE-UP

For the first time in forever, I have tried out new beauty products. This is mainly because I want to start making a conscious effort to use cruelty-free products and if possible, vegan ones. I had never realised how many brands don't test on animals themselves but the larger company they are owned by are doing this or test on them in China. furthermore, I am trying to move away to other products. Glossier, my all-time favourite skincare, is cruelty-free and so are all of my new favourite skincare & make-up items. If you didn't already know, the majority of Superdrug's own products are cruelty-free so I decided to try out one of their face scrubs. NYX is now vegan-friendly as well as being a cruelty-free brand!! So I jumped on the bandwagon and tried out the 'Can't stop won't stop concealer' and wow it is amazing, my new favourite - sorry collection lasting perfection.

Glossier - Balm Dotcom in Birthday & Rose
Superdrug - Vitamin E Facial Scrub
NYX - Can't Stop Won't Stop Concealer
NYX - Tame & Frame Tinted brow pomade

FASHION

Gymshark - Everyday Jogger
Nike - Air Force 1

FILMS

Christopher Robin
Venom
The Highwaymen
Captain Marvel
Fiver Feet Apart
The Book Club

TV SHOWS

The Good Place
Chicago PD
Chicago Med
Jane the Virgin

YOUTUBE

Since going to University I have tried to watch more and more people who are also doing the same thing, and I came across Charlotte Emily. A 2nd-year Forensic Science student at the University of Lincoln. Charlotte vlogs her uni life as well as uploading to her 'main channel' which I love because you get to see both sides of her, however, I have to say my favourite thing is her vlogs - mainly because I prefer to watch them.

I also LOVE watching American youtubers who are at College, and I came across Abbey Asselin in the gals on the go facebook page and have been obsessed ever since. I came across Maggie MacDonald when another Kenzie mentioned her in a video and again, I have been obsessed ever since. It is so interesting to see the difference between a university in the UK and college in the US.

MUSIC

As you all (probably) know, I LOVE music but then again who doesn't? Since January I have already been to 3 concerts and fallen in love with some new music and some of my all time favourites also released new music! Don't forget to check out my April playlist which is linked in the sidebar, and each month that is where you will find the new playlist.

LANY - Malibu Nights
Busted - Half Way There
Lewis Capaldi - Someone You Loved
Bea Miller & 6LACK - it's not u it's me
Lennon Stella - BITCH (takes one to know one)
Jonas Brothers
Billie Eilish - WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
The Vamps - Missing You

I have actually been home from University for 2 weeks now and have one more week left of the Easter holidays, which will consist of working Tues-Fri, watching ENDGAME (I am freaking out about it, not sure I am emotionally ready) and attempting to start my revision for my exams in May. Anyway, enough about my boring life at the moment, I hope you have enjoyed this post and thank you so much for actually reading!!

2018 favourites

I have been waiting so long to write an updated favourites blog post but I never got round to it sadly, so instead, I thought I'd the annual favourites post as last years was so popular! I am a little late but I getting back into the swing of University has been a little harder than I expected but never mind.

SKINCARE & MAKE UP

Firstly, my favourite things ever in terms of skincare products. In summer I had been waiting for my June paycheque to clear so I could make a purchase on the popular shop - Glossier. I had heard so so many wonderful things about it, so I picked up a mini Jelly Cleanser (because I was going on holiday), an Original Balm Dotcom and Boy brown in the shade brown. I quickly became OBSESSED with them all. As soon as I ran out of my mini cleanser I quickly ordered a larger one and a new Balm Dotcom but this time in Rose. I use my cleanser every morning and every night, and I think one of my favourite things about it is that it doesn't hurt your eyes. In the past, I have used products that irritate my eyes, and the jelly cleanser does not. This is because it contains contact lens solution.

This skincare favourite has been something I have wanted to try for a while, but I have never been able to find online in the UK - the people I saw using it were in the US. In October Asos started stocking the brand Dr.Jart+ which finally meant I could try the Cicapair Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment. This is a colour correcting cream that I apply after I cleanse, tone and moisturise for my face. When you apply it to your face it goes a beige shade and helps to neutralise redness and create an even skin tone. This has helped me so much as my face goes red so easily and is never one colour.

Urban Decay - All Nighter Setting Spray
Two faced - Melted Matte lipstick (child star)
Morphe - M575 blending brush (they sadly don't sell it anywhere anymore)
Morphe - 350 Nature Glow

FASHION

Vans - Checkerboard slip-on
Missguided - blue oversized denim jacket
Urban Outfitters - Clueless T-shirt

let's ignore the mess of my room, but a lil sneak peek at my uni room - tour coming soon.

TV SHOWS

Criminal Minds
Friends
American Crime Story: The people vs O.J Simpson
Timeless
NCIS: New Orleans
Manhunt: Unabomber
Scandal

During the revision process of my exams, I suddenly decided it would be a good time to start a new tv show and become obsessed with it - American Crime Story: The people vs O.J Simpson (Netflix). It covered the case of O.J. Simpson and was a tv show based on true events. Over the summer I binged an awful lot of TV shows as you are well aware of, but nearer the end of summer I decided to watch Scandal (amazon prime) - "PR guru has dedicated her life to protecting the images of the nation's elite. But her clients aren't the only ones with secrets and she may need to exercise all her damage control skills on her own behalf."

FILMS

There were so many amazing films in 2018 but I just wanted to mention my favourite ones (which are mainly Marvel):

Black Panther
Love Simon
Avengers: Infinity War
Star Wars Story: Han Solo
Incredible's 2
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again
Ant-Man & The Wasp
Venom
Bumblebee.

BOOKS

At the beginning of 2018, I set myself a goal to read 5 books and sadly I only read 3. My favourite one was One of Us Is Lying by Karen M. McManus, which I read whilst I was on holiday in Spain. It is a mixture of my favourite things - high school drama and murder/crime. Karen has also brought a new book called 'Two Can Keep a Secret', which looks amazing and im very excited to read it eventually.

MUSIC

Noah Kahn
Madison Beer - As She Pleases
Bea Miller - aurora
The Vamps - Night & Day (Day Edition)
NOTD & Bea Miller - I Wanna Know
You Me At Six -VI
LANY - Malibu Nights
Lennon Stella - Love, me
Alessia Cara - The Pains of Growing

My music always ranges every year, however, you will always find Bea Miller and The Vamps included because they are my ultimate favourites. Beafinally released her second album and honestly it was one of the best things to happen in 2018 - no joke. If you want to take a browse at my Spotify top song os 2018 it is linked in the sidebar!

YOUTUBE

Grace Fit Uk
Danielle Carolan
Holly Gabrielle
Katie Snooks

When any of the above youtubers upload it honestly makes me so happy. I LOVE watching what they are getting up to in their lives, what they eat, the places they visit and well basically anything. Bother Bianca and Danielle are in College and I love watching 'college week in my life' videos, they have become my favourite to watch. Grace and Holly are quite similar too, however, they are from the UK but both go to University - Oxford and Cambridge. Katie, on the other hand, is quite different, I love watching her true crime videos, #dateswithkate and (my favourite) her weekly vlogs!

So sorry the lateness of this post but I hope you enjoyed it none the less!

what were your favourite things from 2018?

April - July Favourites | 2018

It has been a very long time since my last favourites post, 6 months to be exact... However, I thought I would combine the last few months all into one post as I haven't mentioned a lot of these things before on my blog. This favourites post won't actually have any makeup favourites because I am boring and use the same things everyday and I plan to talk about them in an 'everyday summer makeup routine' soon. Instead, it will consist of random stuff, fashion, tv shows, films, youtube and books.

I am currently in the process of changing my blog a little, the layout of my posts, some content and the general look of it. I have found a perfect premade template to use so hopefully this month you will see a few changes!

RANDOM:

Back in May I caved and bought myself some stickers off redbubble and honestly, I have been obsessed with them ever since I have even picked out some more for me to order when payday comes. In total, I only picked out 11 and wish I picked more but I LOVE the ones I did pick.

If you do not understand them all then I will explain, they are all from tv shows apart from one which is from my favourite film, and well one is a tv show but also a movie (Marvel)  - Gilmore Girls (3), Friends, Riverdale, Teen Wolf, How I Met Your Mother. Criminal Minds, The Vampire Diaries / The Originals, Peter Pan and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (Marvel films also).

FASHION:

I hardly ever share fashion favourites on my blog but ever since my birthday in March I have been wearing the same pair of shoes non-stop. It is actually getting a bit bad now because they are all I wear, but I have changed up a little bit now the heat wave has hit because they sadly do not match my outfits - if they did I would 100% be wearing them. So they are the 'Black and White Classic Checkerboard Vans' in a size 5 - sadly my feet have not grown in the past 8 years...

TV SHOWS & FILMS:

Due to my exam's the number of tv shows I watched changed a lot, however, I did still watch lots because that is who I am and what I enjoy. I became obsessed with American Crime Story: The People vs O.J Simpson, The Big Bang Theory season 11 and Timeless season 2.

Once my exams were over I managed to watch a lot more tv shows, which consisted of Manhunt: Unambomber, Criminal Minds Season 13,  NCIS: New Orleans Season 4  and 13 Reasons Why Season 2. I am currently watching NCIS: Los Angeles from season 8 before I start binge-watching all of Orange is the New Black before the 27th July - that happens to be the day before I go on holiday so I will be able to download it for the plane and journey from the airport because it is long.

I managed to go to the cinema a lot over the past months as it was a good break from revision and a chance to hang out with a friend for a while, especially with a 2-4-1 ticket on a Tuesday or a Wednesday. Since my last post in January, I have seen Maze Runner: Death Cure, Black Panther, Love Simon, Infinity War pt1 (of course!) and Han Solo. I also watched several Netflix original movies, which included F*** The Prom, The Kissing Booth, Dude and Set it Up which were all brilliant and made me laugh a lot!

YOUTUBE:

I have been watching a lot more youtube in recent months, mainly because I watch it in the morning whilst I am getting ready for sixth form and eating breakfast. This is mainly because I like to watch other people's lives to kind of help me feel motivated for the day, whereas if I was watching a tv show I would know it wasn't real.

The first is the wonderful Grace Fit UK who does a range of videos, and I think the reason I love her is that she is at University but still manages to work out every day, run her business and upload on youtube. She is very inspiring and her videos are so interesting, I especially love watching her 'what I eat in a day' or her 'university day in the life'.

My other favourite is completely different. As you know I am obsessed with true crime and everything to do with that, and one day I decided to watch some 'true crime' videos on youtube and found Caitlin Rose and her 'Mystery / True Crime' series on her youtube channel. Catilin is also a University student who does these videos once a week as well as doing fashion and lifestyle videos. These types of videos are honestly just so fascinating to me, I once spent a day watching these in between revising - it was brilliant.

BOOKS:

I mentioned in my last post I finished my book back in May and hadn't picked up another since, well that has now changed. I had been browsing lots online and came across 'one of us is lying' and just added it to my books wishlist on Amazon thinking I would buy it for my holiday. However, I found it in Tesco, re-read the blurb and knew I had to buy it!

I started reading it on the 27th June and I sadly haven't read it a week because I have been busy (cleaning and watching tv shows) but I know I won't finish it before the 28th July so it will be coming to Spain with me. I have also started using 'good reads' which I saw Kayla (from kaylablogs) use and thought I would give it a go to track my books and my goal to read 5 books this year. Check it out what I am currently reading below:

January Favourites 2018

Thank goodness it is finally February, January seemed to last forever and I am so glad it is over! That also means a new favourites post, woo. If I am honest the main things I loved last month were tv shows (oops i'm sorry...) however I racked my brain a little more and came up with some more favourites for you, as a blog post about two tv shows would be pretty boring?? Anyway, let's get into the favourites.

The first is a liquid lipstick that my cousin got me for Christmas as a 'santa present' - what we give after we eat Christmas dinner. She got me a beautiful lipstick from Maybelline that I have been wearing quite a lot recently because it stays on so well, and I love a lipstick that lasts a long time! But then again who doesn't? It is called the Superstay Matte Ink Liquid in the shade Lover (15).

The second and final beauty favourite of last month is something I am yet to talk about on my blog, but that is the Urban Decay's Naked Heat palette - which I got for Christmas. I have been wearing this every chance I get, I wasn't 100% sure how I would feel about it when I got it as I had already been using the Modern Renaissance palette for a while and I have never had more than one eye shadow palette at a time. However I was shocked and fell in love with it automatically, and now I actually use them together. At the moment though I have been grabbing the Naked Heat palette more often as I find the colours in the Modern Renaissance palette more 'going out' and I haven't been out much recently... I blame A-levels... Anyway, the colours are so beautiful in the Naked Heat, however I haven't used them all yet but that is always the way I think with some palettes. It was the same when I first got the Naked 2 back in 2015.

Last month I came across a new artist one of Kalyn's playlist's on Spotify, and his name is Noah Kahn. I automatically fell in love with him and added all of his tracks to my January favourites here. He has such a distinct and calming sound, and sometimes he even sounds a little like James Blunt who I also love!

My final favourite for last month was an American tv show called Criminal Minds - however if you have watched it all shhh, I am about half way through season 9 at the moment! I have never really talked about this side of me before on my blog but, I adore these sorts of things and should really talk about them more especially as I am off to study Criminology in October. But Crime shows are amazing, but the same with all shows but this isn't just about them finding psychopaths or sociopaths it is more than that and that is what I love. You get to see their lives too, outside and inside of working at the FBI Behavioural Analysis Unit. I have been watching this on Amazon Prime, because at the start of the year I found that they had added all 12 seasons!! It was like Christmas all over again! (and when I found out Netflix added all 10 seasons of friends)

A real mix of favourites from last month which kind of show every side of me, which is different for a change. January was a brilliant month, even though it did consist of a lot of revision, coursework writing, sleeping and watching criminal minds (the last 2 aren't so bad I guess). Overall it was a decent start to the year and I can't wait for the rest of the year as there are so many exciting things happening. One of which is happening next Monday, and there will be a post on Monday.. and that is all I am saying as I can't describe it very well without telling you what it is about! Anyway... I hope you had a wonderful start to the year, if not don't worry you still have 11 months left to make changes! xxx

2017 Favourites

2017, what a wonderful year. I want to say it was better but at times I am not too sure really. Overall it was a wonderful year and I have so many great memories but I am not going to tell you about them, instead I am going to talk about my favourite products and random things from 2017!

Make-up and Skincare:
My make up favourites of last year are actually one's I didn't purchase till November, one on the Black Friday sale and one at the beginning of the month. The first is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. I had seen so many people raving about it for months and months and I finally caved and treated myself to it, and I am so glad I did! I adore all of the colours in this palette, however I haven't managed to try them all yet, as they create such pretty make up looks if just for school or even for when I go out with friend. I love the wide range of eye looks I can create with it, and the pigmentation is wonderful! The colours blend so well together, it has to be my favourite palette I own now.

Next is actually I product I had never considered purchasing even though I had heard great things about them, it is a Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick in the shade Deceased.  I picked this up in the Black Friday sales on beauty-bay (after waiting in a 30 minute queue to get onto the site in the first place), and I am so glad I did as I was in desperate need of a new liquid lipstick. The only annoying thing about when the product arrived was that when I put it on my lips it definitely was not the colour on the website, it was a lot darker, however that doesn't bother me now as the colour is so beautiful anyway! It is now my go to lipstick for going out, followed closing by Mac's matte lipstick Whirl.

Of course my skincare favourite of 2017 is the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with aloe, herbs and rosewater which I first purchased back in March when I was in London. Since then I have repurchased it one other time and I am still using that spray now, I have to say it is one of the only skincare products I am constantly using apart from my simple moisturiser.

TV Shows:
Of course there is a section for tv shows and films, which is very typical for me however I shortened this down for once!! I sat and considered what to actually write about and to make sure I don't repeat some that I mention all the time... It then lead to next week's post where I can talk about more, but I better get onto my favourites of last year.

First is a tv series I found on Netflix that I had been told was brilliant before but never got round to watching it, finally I gave in and at the perfect time I think for me. It is a show called How to Get Away with Murder, and it is all about "A group of ambitious law students and their brilliant criminal defence professor become involved in a twisted murder plot that promises to change the course of their lives."

The other tv series is something different to what I usually watch, and it is a Netflix Original called Designated Survivor. This show is all about when "A low-level Cabinet member becomes President of the United States after a catastrophic attack that kills everyone above him in the line of succession"

Films:
There was so many amazing films that came out in 2017 but if I am honest there was only a few that stood out to me, which included Girls Trip, Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar's Revenge, Thor: Ragnarok, Pitch Perfect 3, Jumaji: Welcome to the Jungle and Star Wars: The Last Jedi. If I start talking about them all now I will never stop but I knew it couldn't be a favourites until I mentioned all of these, even if it was briefly!

Books:
Sadly in 2017 I only managed to read one book, and I didn't manage to finish it until 14th January, but however it was a wonderful book and has made me want to read a lot more this year. The book is called The List by Siobhan Vivian. It is all about a High School which each year has a list created, naming the prettiest and ugliest in each grade. The story explains each persons perspective on what happened to them when the list came out, which confused me at times because I kept forgetting everyone's names, which grade they were in and whether they had been called ugly or pretty. I finally finished it last weekend when I couldn't sleep and it was a wonderful book and I enjoyed it thoroughly, It has now lead to my goal of reading 4/5 books this year and maybe even more - we shall see.

I am so excited to see what 2018 brings for me, and hopefully I find some new products to use and try so many new things! Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely 2018! x

July Favourites 2017

Summer has finally arrived, Sixth Form is over and I am back with a working MacBook!! Since I have been gone have been trying new things and become obsessed with so many things, so of course my first post back is a favourites. Again this favourites is lacking make-up/hair/beauty favourites as I haven't really found any recently but hopefully there will be some soon as I plan on purchasing some new make up soon - my list is ready for pay day.

So first of all is a first time purchase and I have only ever mentioned this brand once, back in March. I finally, after trying the original version, bought the Smashbox Colour Corrector Primer - Adjust (Green). I have been using it every day since I purchased it and I have fallen in love. I only ever used the baby skin primer before I tried the small Photo finish primer from Smashbox that my friends got me for my birthday. I had seen youtubers use all the different ones and I thought the green one would be perfect for me as I have quite red skin. It works wonderfully and makes me foundations go on easier and smoother along with getting rid of the main areas of red slightly - as it can't work miracles, my skin is constantly red.

Next I am jumping straight onto music and I have 3 new albums to to talk all about, and the first one you may guess if you know me or read my post regularly. Of course it is The Vamps new album Night and Day (Night Edition) - I am listening to the song My Place off the Album as I am writing about this. Of course this had to be featured in the favourites for July as I also went to see them perform this entire album in a small intimate gig in Sheffield on 10th July. It is quite different to their previous album and I have fallen in love with every song off it, can not pick my favourite! If someone asks I'll tell them one and then change my mind. Today as I am posting this it is 5 years since The Vamps posted their first cover, which is insane!

Next is Imagine Dragons new album Evolve and I only listened to it as my brother bought it and my mum has had it on in the car 24/7, if not I would have only listened to Thunder and Believer. My friend originally got me hooked on Thunder and then Riverdale got me hooked on Believer but once I listened to the rest of the album i fell in love. I had never really been a massive fan of imagine dragons, I loved some of their songs before but my friends had never got me to listen to an entire album but I'm glad they did this time.

Now to TV shows, and I mean it wouldn't be a favourites if I didn't mention a tv show and this time it is Degrassi Next Class : Season 4 as it was added to Netflix on the 7th July but I didn't watch it till later on I think. It was another emotional rollercoaster, the same as the other seasons, but the stories that were told were beautiful and I honestly adore all the characters and stories they tell. I would highly recommend as it isn't the same as your typical high school tv drama.

My second and final tv show favourites is one that if you are from england then you will most likely have heard of it and you will either love or hate it, and it is of course Love Island series 3. I was almost forced into watching it and it took me a few episodes to understand what the hell was going on, who was who and what the purpose of it was. However after a week of watching (as it was on every night at 9pm, but not Saturday's) I was very much hooked and was always in front of my tv or laptop at 9pm.

My movies this month of course were mentioned in my last post, but the main ones I have been watching this month has been Before I Fall, The Outsiders, Descendants 2 and Fast and Furious 8.

Not that many favourites this past month but I will make sure there is more for August's favourites! Don't forget I am making the monthly playlists over on my Spotify if you want to check out what I listen to each month - July 2017. Thank you very much for reading and I hope you enjoyed this!

March Favourites 2017

Hello everybody, I have been excited to write this post as march is one of my favourite months due it it being my birth month and also the fact we already on the 4th month of the year??!! But I have had a few new favourites this month, so of course I wanted to share them with you! Most of my favourites this month are items I picked up when I was in London, so even more the reason to share.

My first favourite of the month is a matte lipstick by MAC in the shade Whirl. I have wanted a dark nude for a while, after creating man pinterest boards with this shade in and seeing one of my friends wearing it actually. I finally decided to purchase this, from the MAC on Carnaby Street. I have mainly been wearing it when I go out rather than to school but I have been loving it, it makes a change to either my red lip or my nude lip.

Next is something I have been seeing so much on youtube and haven't been able to find in my local Urban Outfitter. When I went to London it was there, all laid out on the table - the Mario Badescu skin care range. Mum looked at me and went "go on, treat yourself!" which is exactly what I did, I got the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with aloe herbs and rosewater and I am obsessed with it!!! I have been watching Summer Mckeen's youtube videos with her talking about how much she loves it, how great it and how much she uses it and I agree with her so much. It was so worth the hype! I have been using it at least 3 or 4 times a day, after a moisturise in the morning and before my setting spray goes on, after I take my make up off and put moisturiser on. It is also great to spray once you have had a shower or work out. I have a feeling I may use this up before I next go to London so I may have to shop around online to find it.

Now onto my favourite film this month, and I haven't been to the cinema yet which is very sad as I wanted to see Logan and Beauty and the Beast but hopefully I will see them soon. In terms of films, my favourite this month has been Trolls, and I know what you are thinking? You're 18 and love trolls?? However it isn't just the movie, it's the actors and the soundtrack. I adore all of the actors in the movie and know all the words to every song off the soundtrack, mainly because it is such a happy and motivating soundtrack.

Next is a TV show and I was going to put in about the vampire diaries and how it ended on the 10th March, but I am not because if I start talking about it I may never shut up and I don't want to spoil it any way. Especially for my friends who I know still haven't watched season 7. Anyway, onto this months TV favourite and it is a show called Freaks and Geeks. Sadly there is only 1 season with 18 episodes in at 44 minutes each episode, so I did manage to watch it in a few days but I loved every second of it. It was from late 1999 to early 2000, which is old around 18 years old (same as me) but I loved all the actors in it. Some of the cast includes Sean Rogan, James Franco and Jason Segel. Putting them altogether in one cast was amazing, and they worked so well playing the characters and the story line was great! I wish they had done another season, but sadly not. The description on IMBD says "A high school mathlete starts hanging out with a group of burnouts while her brother navigates his freshman year."

Thank you so much for reading, hope you enjoyed this post! I am finally back into the swing of everything in my life (I think) so get ready for new posts either every Saturday or Sunday!

January Favourites 2017

This months favourites is quite small but they are all brand new things to me so its a nice change. However its the first month of the year and I haven't been shopping yet so, hopefully next months will be better and I'll find some new and more favourites. But if you want see what I have been loving this month then carry on reading, first of all is my beauty favourites.

My first favourite this month is a lipstick by Rimmel London. It is one of their new Matte lipstick's called, 'The Only 1 Matt Lipstick' and got mine in the shade Trendsetter which is vert similar to the MAC Velvet Teddy. It is just slightly lighter than Velvet Teddy but is honestly my new favourite lipstick! The formula is great, it is matte and it do stay on your lips for a while not Kylie a while but it's great. I have been wearing everyday since I bought it back in December. I 100% recommend it and any of the colours as there are some beautiful ones in the collection.

Next is a long awaited one and I have been itching to write all about this but have waited until I finished it, which was a few weeks ago. And that is the TV Show, Gilmore girls. I have been watching this for a while and finally this month I have finished all 7 seasons but I haven't started to watch 'year in the life', as sounds weird but its nice not to watch something all the time and instead i've watched youtube and some movies instead. That doesn't mean i don't love the show, of gosh no its the opposite of that.  Honestly this is now one of favourite tv series and I am already wanting to purchase the box set so I can watch it all the time even if I have no internet or stop having netflix.

Next is a movie I saw in the Cinema when I went down to Essex with my Family after Christmas, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Technically it is a 'December Favourite' but it is still out in the cinema (actually not sure) but I wanted to mention it! I think everyone had mixed ideas about this movie but oh my gosh it was amazing, I loved it all so much and will be watching it again straight away when it comes out on DVD. I keep trying to get my mum to see it so I can go again. They have also just announced the name for the new star wars movie and I am so excited!

The last 2 are music favourites, the first is the song How Far I'll Go by the wonderful Alessia Cara. It is the song from the new Disney Movie Moana. Some of the youtubers I watch had been raving about it and I had heard parts of it in their vlogs and snapchats but I never listened to it and then I decided to give it a listen. When I first listened I knew most of the lyrics as I heard some of the song and it was added to my favourites on Spotify straight away! It is such a great song, and I love Alessia Cara as you guys know. Can't wait to watch the movie when it is out on DVD.

Finally is a movie but it is all the complete soundtrack from the movie. Again it is a Disney Movie but it is honestly great! It is Trolls. I have been listening to the soundtrack on repeat non stop for the past week, I am so obsessed. It such a happy soundtrack and I love all the singers/actors in it, from Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Zooey Deschanel and Ariana Grande. The movie is fabulous too!! I recommend it so much, I have fallen in love with every aspect of Trolls! And found a new love for Justin Timberlake.

Thank you so much for reading, I hope you have all had a great start to 2017 lets see if we can make this year better than last year! I hope you enjoyed this post, I'll see you all next week.
Love Meg x

November Favourites 2016

November favourites time came around so quickly, and it means it is Christmas time. If I'm honest I don't have that many favourites this month as 1) I haven't had the money to buy anything due to spending money on other people for their 18th and then obviously Christmas next month. However I do have some favourites that I thought I'd share with you.

I haven't really got any Make-up products favourites this month instead it is a shower gel. It is by Lush and is quite a popular one when it comes to this time of the year, called Snow Fairy. This is actually a bottle I got last year for Christmas but have just got round to using it and now seemed like the perfect time as they have just come into the shops. It honestly smells almost like cotton candy and has glitter inside it which makes me even more happy.

In terms of music, it is actually my Spotify playlist. It is called Central Perks. It is a variety of old school songs that I have been listening to a lot recently, ranging from things like High School Musical, Ke$ha, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Sandi Thom etc. It's kind of just the music that I listened to during the Primary School and then Secondary School. You guys should deffo give it a listen to, the playlist is public on my spotify so give it a listen if you want.

Next is YouTube, and well I have 2. The first was Kenzie's Vlogs, especially her moving ones however there were only like 3 but I have always loved her vlogs. I get so nosy when it comes to youtube, as I get to see how they have everything in their houses' in terms of decor and just inside their apartment. I mean who doesn't love a good apartment tour or whats in my bag video.
Kenzie's Vlog channel: KeepingUpWithKenzie

Next is Travel videos, I have always wanted to travel and one night whilst I was watching Remi's vlog when she was in Portland I decide I should watch more travel vloggers and then (sadly) spent my night searching for new travel vloggers to watch. I came across Hey Nadine and have fallen in love with her channel.

This favourite is a bit random but it is Pinterest. I have been obsessed with it recently, and if I am on some sort of social media it will be this. I am constantly pinning things and I have 23 boards (as I just made a new one yesterday), I'm not even ashamed. It is great to gather ideas and inspiration for so many different things ranging from room ideas, to fashion, study motivation/cute notes, hair styles and food etc.  My account is linked in my Social Media page at the top!
Finally is TV shows, and this month it is something new called Awkward. I have been watching it on amazon prime, however season 5b isn't available to watch yet so I'll have to wait. But anyways, Awkward is about a girl in her Sophomore year at High School (season 1) and he story of lovers and typical troubles she has to face in High School. I got so obsessed with it, and binge watched season 1 in one night.

Sorry about the lighting, the sun set quicker than I expected!

I hope you enjoyed this posts and I will see you either next Thursday or Sunday. As I am going to try and upload every Thursday, and maybe a sneaky one on Sunday it all depends.

October Favourites 2016

It's finally November and I'm so excited for Christmas now! I'm actually currently listening to a Christmas song, well a Christmas song by All Time Low called Merry Christmas, Kiss My Ass. Anyways, I'm a little late doing this but it's here and so lets get started.

The first 2 favourites are clothes, and I don't really talk about clothes mainly because I find it so difficult to find things I like that suit me, fit me and finally aren't too expensive. They are both from H&M which is great, I have recently re-found my love for H&M as i use to shop there then went off it and now my love for it is back, which is strange but anyways.  The first thing is a stripped jumper I picked up from H&M in Camden when I went there with my Dad. I'd say it's cropped but at the same time I think it's too long to be cropped, however it works really well with my next favourite and my trusty TopShop high waist joni jeans. The next favourite is a cord skirt, in black. I picked up in Derby again when I was with my Dad a while ago. I have always loved these style skirts however the denim ones never fitted me properly and looked weird on me and then I finally found this one and fell in love with!

Next is a Lipstick, and it isn't even mine it's actually my Mum's shhh. However she kept using one of my Mac one's so I think we are even! Anyway, it is again a Avon Matte Lipstick in the shade Superb Wine, which is a perfect fall colour. It goes great with the jumper and isn't to drying. I have a pink in the same style and they both last ages and look matte, instead of just looking not very shiny. Which I love, since I got my Kylie lip kit I have been obsessed with matte lipsticks.

Next is music, and this month I have been listening to Bastille non stop as I actually went to see them Live on 5th November. Which was honestly incredible, I'm so glad mum and I got tickets. We were also standing which was crazy but wow I'm so glad we did get standing because honestly you get so much more into the songs If I'm honest, like everyone is dancing so its not weird were as when your seated you can't really dance without looking crazy.

My final favourite this month is a youtuber and that is Remi! I have been watching her ever since Kenzie uploaded a video with her, which was about a month ago. I started off by watching her moving vlogs and got a little obsessed. I seem to love watching vlogs now, especially people who live in LA or America. Quite a lot of the people I watch are actually American. Anyways, Remi's channels.

I hope you enjoyed this and well, I will see you Sunday (I believe) with a new blog post!

My Movie Watch List, Autumn 2016

I have done a reading list and a music playlist so I thought lets do a movie watch list as I am so obsessed with movies and finding new one to watch. I tend to find lists on IMBD and stalk them, add them to my notes and gradually watch them. It's honestly great finding new movies, I have found so many great new ones from this and I want to share them with you.

This is honestly such a weird list of movies but they are so damn good, I think when it comes to Halloween I might do another post like this about my favourite movies for that time! Because honestly I just love movies, they make me laugh and smile and even cry (a lot sometimes.

A few of these films are on Netflix and Amazon Prime, if you have them if not you will be able to find them online or super cheap from somewhere like CEX (if your from the uk), HMV or even Amazon. I am constantly shopping for DVD's, if I go out shopping I tend to buy make-up or dvd's instead of clothes which I actually need.

I have linked the each of the movie's IMBD pages so you can watch the trailers for each of them. Right well that is it for this week's post, I hope you enjoyed this!

Back to School: Everyday Sixth form make up look

I thought I would do another make-up look in this little back to school series. However my make-up idea always seem to be the same as when I find something I like I tend to stick to it. So it might be a little repetitive but anyways lets get into this. I actually wear pretty much the same make-up every day, and the only thing that changes in my lipstick.

First of all I apply my Simple kind to skin, rich moisturiser all over my face but especially to my nose where I got my nose pierced as it is really dry at the moment. If you want me to do a post about my nose piercing, comment at the end! Then I apply some moisturiser also to my lips, and use the Cherry Carmex moisturising lip balm. Which I have been using for just under a month and it is brilliant!

Now to the make-up! First is my foundation, which is the MAC studio fix fluid in shade NW10. I apply this all over my face with my damp Real techniques beauty blender. Next is concealer and of course it is the Collection lasting perfection concealer in the shade fair. I use this to hide the bags under my eyes, cover and spots and to correct my eyebrows, which is the next stage. I use the Miss Sporty studio eyebrow kit in the shade medium brown. I have really light brows so the before and after photos make me laugh, but I used the wax to create the shape and fill them in and then just apply some power on the top. To set them I use Rimmel London Brow this way, brow styling gel in clear.

Once they have set it's onto powder to set my entire face, and I used the Rimmel London Stay matte long lasting pressed powder in the shade transparent. I apply this on with a 'blush' brush which I got from Primark I think. Next is one of my favourite new products and that is the Benefit Hoola bronzer, to apply this I simply use the brush it came with to contour and use my Real Techniques blush brush to blend it out and apply it around to tops of my face. For highlight I have been using my Nars Illuminator in Copacabana, I don't use a lot but I apply with a tiny damp beauty blender to blend it out. However for my Cupids bow I just use the Highlight from my collection highlight and contour kit.

Next to my eyes, I simply apply my favourite mascara which is Maybelline NY lash sensational mascara in black of course. However before applying it onto my top lashes I do curl them, with an eyelash curler which I got my Tiger I think. And finally I set everything with my Avon makeup setting spray.

Now to the lipstick and I went with the one I have been wearing today and that is my Kylie Jenner Lip Kit, in the shade Candy K. I tend to where it to school as it is quite a simple colour, not to bright or too dark. Also because it stays on really well so I only have to re-apply it once I have eaten lunch, which is great! And this is the final look!

So that is what I tend to wear when I go to sixth form, in terms of make-up! I hope you guys have enjoyed this post and I will see you Sunday!

August Favourites 2016

I always seem to do my favourites each month and sometimes they get pretty repetitive so I decided to only talk about a few things. However they will all be new and never been mention before on my blog, as my favourites each month seem to be pretty similar. Lets get started anyway.

When I flew out to Spain my Mum was kind enough to buy me the Benefit Hoola Bronzer, which I have fallen in love with and the colour suits me so much more than the Collection highlight and contour palette. It works so well as a suitable bronzer but also for a good contour. I love the fact it comes with a little brush, which works so well for contouring all of my face! I would recommended this product 100%, especially if you are pretty pale (like me) as the colour works so well as it isn't too dark.

Next is a highlighter that I have been wearing a lot recently, this is the Nars Copacabana Illuminator. I bought it when I was in America last year, from the Sephora opposite the Hard Rock cafe. I remember I spent the whole trip saying how much I wanted to buy it and trying it on in every Sephora. However on out last day in New York I told my friend I was going to buy a Hard Rock cafe Top and if I had enough money I would then buy it for my self and well I did! I am honestly so happy I got it too, it took a while for me to get use to applying it as it is a liquid but I have finally. I apply with my fingers and then blend it in with my tiny beauty blends and then apply a thin layer of the collection highlight and it looks amazing. I honestly adore it so much, I have joined the highlight craze now a little late but oh well.

Next is an Album, which I actually bought the day before I flew home from Spain which meant with Prime it would be there when I got home! Which it was and I added it straight to my phone as soon as I could! Oh yes, the Album is Know-It-All by Alessia Cara. I was obsessed with her song 'Wild Things' for ages and then heard another song by her 'Scars to your beautiful' on Spotify and realised she had an album out. Not sure how I missed it but, well I then listen to it on holiday via Spotify and became obsessed with it all! I defiantly recommend it and if you haven't heard any of her songs, then listen to 'Here' or 'Wild Things' as they are probably her will known songs.

Second last is a youtuber and it is velvetgh0st but her vlog channel! Gabby has been vlogging a lot recently and she has just moved so she has been vlogging all of that. She has also been going out 'clubbing' or just drinking with her friends and she vlogs that too and they honestly make me laugh and smile so much. She has also just uploaded her reaction to the PLL summer finale, which I haven't watched but I am so excited to watch it when I can.
Vlog Channel: Planet Gabb

Last is a movie which I have never mentioned before as I have just found a new love for it and the actor in it. It is Legend, and it is all about The Kray twins which are gangsters. I originally watched it on prime as research almost for a school project as I am doing all about nature and nurture of crime and murders. I thought it would interesting to watch and kind of related to my work so why not! The actor Tom Hardy plays both of the twins, Reggie and Ronnie, he plays them so well. I got my dad to buy it me on DVD the other week as I'm not 18 until March. It confused me slightly when I first watched it but you have to pay attention to it completely, you can't half watch it and half play on your phone otherwise you miss loads of the story line. However it is very violent and the language is very strong which explains why it is an 18, I can't really say don't watch it if your under 18 as I am but if your under 16 or scared by certain things I wouldn't recommend it!

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed this. I have some back to school posts planned now which are exciting!
