Back to School: Everyday Sixth form make up look

I thought I would do another make-up look in this little back to school series. However my make-up idea always seem to be the same as when I find something I like I tend to stick to it. So it might be a little repetitive but anyways lets get into this. I actually wear pretty much the same make-up every day, and the only thing that changes in my lipstick.

First of all I apply my Simple kind to skin, rich moisturiser all over my face but especially to my nose where I got my nose pierced as it is really dry at the moment. If you want me to do a post about my nose piercing, comment at the end! Then I apply some moisturiser also to my lips, and use the Cherry Carmex moisturising lip balm. Which I have been using for just under a month and it is brilliant!

Now to the make-up! First is my foundation, which is the MAC studio fix fluid in shade NW10. I apply this all over my face with my damp Real techniques beauty blender. Next is concealer and of course it is the Collection lasting perfection concealer in the shade fair. I use this to hide the bags under my eyes, cover and spots and to correct my eyebrows, which is the next stage. I use the Miss Sporty studio eyebrow kit in the shade medium brown. I have really light brows so the before and after photos make me laugh, but I used the wax to create the shape and fill them in and then just apply some power on the top. To set them I use Rimmel London Brow this way, brow styling gel in clear.

Once they have set it's onto powder to set my entire face, and I used the Rimmel London Stay matte long lasting pressed powder in the shade transparent. I apply this on with a 'blush' brush which I got from Primark I think. Next is one of my favourite new products and that is the Benefit Hoola bronzer, to apply this I simply use the brush it came with to contour and use my Real Techniques blush brush to blend it out and apply it around to tops of my face. For highlight I have been using my Nars Illuminator in Copacabana, I don't use a lot but I apply with a tiny damp beauty blender to blend it out. However for my Cupids bow I just use the Highlight from my collection highlight and contour kit.

Next to my eyes, I simply apply my favourite mascara which is Maybelline NY lash sensational mascara in black of course. However before applying it onto my top lashes I do curl them, with an eyelash curler which I got my Tiger I think. And finally I set everything with my Avon makeup setting spray.

Now to the lipstick and I went with the one I have been wearing today and that is my Kylie Jenner Lip Kit, in the shade Candy K. I tend to where it to school as it is quite a simple colour, not to bright or too dark. Also because it stays on really well so I only have to re-apply it once I have eaten lunch, which is great! And this is the final look!

So that is what I tend to wear when I go to sixth form, in terms of make-up! I hope you guys have enjoyed this post and I will see you Sunday!

Back to School: Lets get motivated

I have been waiting ages to actually post this, to be able to sit down to write all about getting motivated for sixth form/school.

Since I have gone back to sixth form my attitude has changed all together and I am starting to feel more happy and motivated to survive the next 2 years at sixth form! That might confuse you a little as surely I should only have one year left but no, let me explain what I'm doing quickly.  I have decided to pick up 2 subjects with the year 12's at my sixth from and continue doing my ICT as a year 13. Which I technically am but at the same time I'm a year 12. As I won't be applying for university till next year which means I have longer to prepare for it and know its defiantly the right course or path for me!

So lets talk about motivation. I realised I went about a-levels all wrong last year, like I knew the jump from GCSE to a-level was big but honestly not this big. I thought I was doing well in one of my subjects and felt so confident in terms of the exams I took for them, however they didn't turn out brilliant. But I don't want to talk about that. One of the things that has got me motivated is well changing my attitude towards everything. I started watching a youtuber, Mel Joy, and I just love the way she looks at life and is so motivated for things. She is also how I got motivated to go to the gym more and be the best version of my self. It all seems a little bit stupid when I say it like this but its true. I think I changed I realised my attitude towards work needed change.

Homework and coursework, were always the 2 things I hated about sixth form and I put them off to the last possible moment. However In the past 2 weeks I haven't got that much work but of what I've got I have done the day I got it or the following day. The quicker you get it done the more free time you have after, and it is also easier to get it done after you have just learnt it as it is fresh in your mind! I feel that if I had this attitude this time last year maybe I would have got even better grades, but that doesn't matter now.

The two images are both from pintrest and I would say if you are looking for quotes to motivate you pintrest would be a good start. Look at these 1000+ motivational quotes.

My friend just coincidentally posted a blog post called '5 quotes to live by' and it links in kind of to mine so be sure to go and read it! Jodie's Blog.

I hope you enjoyed this post, and this 'back to school' collection so far. I have one more post and then that will be it, not a lot a know but I joined it a little late and didn't get organised quick enough.

Back to School: What's in my Sixth Form Bag

Hey guys, so I have just had my first day at sixth form (I actually wrote this last week but couldn't upload because my images wouldn't download) and wanted to tell you about what was inside my bag today! I have decided to do it differently to my other post which I didn't really like it if I'm honest. So my bag was a bit of a mess today as I wasn't sure what I would need so I took what I thought would be important. So lets get started anyways.

So this is my school bag, it is from New Look and I would link it however it is over a year old so they won't have it in stock! I am also in need of a new bag but I haven't found the perfect black rucksack for the job! I am also saving money for driving lessons so a new bag will have to wait a while.

This bag just has one big section, a zip pocket along the back, which I will start with and then get to the main bit. In the zip pocket in my bag I actually keep tampons and so on. This is just in case I need them or my friends need them, TMI I know but I'm a girl ok.

Now to the main bit of my bag, so I have it packed for my first day which was yesterday and I only have I.C.T which means I don't need a folder so my bag has more space. First is my pencil case, which I think is from WHSmiths. I got it last year and it fits everything in that I need, which is;

  • fine liners
  • 4  highlighters
  • 2 4 colour pens
  • 2 black Sharpies
  • Rubber
  • Pencil
  • 30cm ruler
  • Small stapler
  • Small hole puncher
  • Memory stick
  • Pens
The majority of my pens in my pencil case are actually free pens that I got from University open days, which is one of the good things about university open days. The free stuff! Next is my 'list book', from Paperchase. I bought this when I was in Essex and I honestly use it so much. It is perfect for writing my homework and coursework down in, it is also so pretty! Next is my diary, which I picked up from Tesco and its just a simple diary, that looks very pretty! I also had a Wilko A4 ruled refill pad, which is what I use for my binders, however I didn't take one of them with me as I didn't need it.

The final things are of course my Tangle Teezzer, a Nike baseball cap, a 850 ml Smart water bottle and my Cath Kidston beauty bag which contains;

  • Extra chewing gum
  • Strepsils
  • Frosted Cranberry anti-bacterial hand gel from Bath and Body works
  • A Pen
  • Nature Valley bar, oats and honey
  • Paracetamol
  • Thin hair bobble

So that is everything in my school bag, it changes slightly each day as I might take a binder or have a text book, which doesn't happen that often but oh well. It seems kind of a lot when you look at it like this but I am organised, my friends are always like "Megan, hand sanitiser" as I always have some. However I wish I'd bought some more when I went to America but oh well. I hope you enjoyed this post and it is the first of the back to school series! I'm actually not doing that many and I wanted to do some more once I am settled back into Sixth Form, I just need to sort out all my timings now I have my timetable. However I have the 4 posts planned and I have the rest to plan for this month and the beginning of next month. I will be organised this year, and manage my time well!
